Easter spring flower table display - in 10 minutes!

Hello my little Easter bunnies! Easter is around the corner - So I thought I'd get a little festive and throw together a couple of super quick and easy flower displays. Like most people, I don't have the time to make anything extravagant so the following displays won't take you longer than 10 minutes to make, but they look beautifully festive and oh so pretty - in fact, such a pretty display would also be ideal for a spring wedding! Let's get started, by cracking open the choccy eggs ...

Hyacinth flower & moss table display

gather ...

Some stones & compost

Pot / bowl / container of some sort

Hyacinths - bulbs or just coming into flower

Moss - you'll find it growing anywhere damp ie near streams

Optional eggs to decorate  (choccy mini eggs would be perfect)

Step by step easter Hyacinths flower display

How to make:

The images above are pretty self explanatory, you simple pop some stones into your container for drainage. Add a layer of compost, then add your flowers / bulbs and add more compost (leaving the top of the bulbs exposed. Then just cover the top with moss. You can break off pieces at a time and mould it into the shape you need.

TIP #1 Once hyacinths flower they droop quickly. Use pretty chopsticks to wedge them up should this happens. Also, if you're planning to make this really close to Easter (a few days) then choose Hyacinths that are not fully in bloom (ie have closed petals.) Note, this project would also work for bulbs, just make sure you don't cover them completely with the moss!

Daffodil & moss wire table display

This display is very similar to above and you'll see the instructions are almost identical. Just bear in mind that daffodils wilt very quickly, so if you want to the flowers to look their best for a particular day then make this arrangement the day before or use blooms that are not quite in flower.

How to make:

Line your container with moss. Add a few stones at the bottom & a layer of compost, then add your flowers / bulbs and add more compost (leaving the top of the bulbs exposed). Cover the top with moss, you can break off pieces at a time and mould it into the shape you need, then scatter your eggy's on top!

TIP #1 As this is a wire container you want to avoid getting any water / soil on your tablecloth, so I'd suggest putting it on a pretty serving plate, which you can decorate with more choccy eggs!
TIP #2  Water little and often.

Happy Easter!
