VIDEO: How to make gloves from an old jumper - in minutes!

Hi all! Here's a brand new video for you, which will show you how to make a pair of fingerless mittens from an old jumper (sweater - to my American friends ;-) in a matter of minutes!
This is ideal for absolute beginners and no sewing experience is necessary.

NOTE: I'll be following this video with another very soon, showing you how to make a snood (neck scarf) and headband out of the same jumper so don't throw your jumper away after you've made the gloves!

Enjoy!

  1. Oh my goodness, Jodie! You are so cute beyond words! I love your little fast-forward sing-songy! What a great idea! Can't wait to see how the "snood" (is that right?) turns out. And the headband! Will be watching for it. Must get out the charity shops (here we call them thrift shops but charity shops is such a better name!) to find a pretty wool sweater. They are hard to find, however. They must be 100% wool in order to nicely felt.

    1. Haha! Aw thanks Karen ;-) glad you like it! Re the wool sweater, I thought it had to be 100% wool but this one was only 60% the rest polyester and it worked fine! I was quite surprised. I did a blanket stitch around where I cut to finish it off nicely, though it's not necessary xx

  2. I have gotten some jumpers. I found some beautiful 100% wool ones and they REALLY felted up! I am hoping they aren't too thick and bulky. I shall try one that is partially wool another time and see how that works. Here I go! So scary to make that first cut! :)
