My first crochet blanket ... a labour of love.

The ladies at my craft club taught me to Crochet ... and I LOVE it.
It's easy, addictive and portable. It's a tricky to get your head around at first, but do push on as it soon clicks, then you're away!  I started a blanket of granny squares (a granny square is basically a small crochet square) and I thought I'd share my progress with you ... then I'll HAVE to finish it.

Just so ya know it looks messy as it's not sewn together yet!

Trouble is, the granny squares make perfect coasters, and stack of four tied with string would make a lovely pressie don't ya think?? But despite being tempted to give them away or make a cushion I shall push on. We rush everywhere and everything nowadays so when it comes to long projects it's easy to get frustrated because we just want it done now, so I have to remind myself the joy is in the doing ... a labour of love.

I'll post a How-to-crochet video next year. But should you want to learn soon I highly recommend videos or better still a real life person. Craft clubs are PERFECT for this. If you can't find a local one to join, start your own! it was one of the best things I ever did (aside from marrying hubby and purchasing Ralphy on the sly)

So hopefully the next time I post it will be finished!
or I'll have a LOT of coasters on my hands.
